The Wheaton College search committee has successfully completed their search for the next Chief Intercultural Engagement Officer of the college. They have appointed Dr. Sheila Caldwell to lead the position. Dr. Caldwell, a diversity and student success champion with nearly two decades of experience in higher education, currently holds leadership roles at the University of North Georgia as Advisor to the President on Diversity, Director for Complete College Georgia, and Principal Investigator for an Upward Bound grant

The Union Institute & University’s Board of Trustees has appointed Dr. Karen Schuster Webb as the university’s sixth president. Dr. Webb succeeds Dr. Roger H. Sublett, who is retiring after serving Union as president since April 2003, effective July 1, 2018. Dr. Webb brings more than 20 years of executive leadership and an impressive career in higher education, most recently as the Midwest campus president and senior advisor for Academic Innovation to the Chancellor at the Antioch University System.

The Saint Edward's University Provost Search Committee has concluded their search and appointed Dr. Andrew Prall to assume the position, effective July 1, 2018. Dr. Prall comes to St. Edward's having served as Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The Augustana College Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Search Committee has completed their search and appointed Dr. Monica Smith to assume the position, effective March 19. Dr. Smith is currently Director of the Office for Diversity and Inclusion at Elizabethtown College in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania. Dr. Lorraine Sterritt, a national leader in higher education with experience at some of America’s finest institutions, has been named the 17th president of Saint Michael's College in Vermont. Dr. Sterritt will be the first woman to hold the position in the College’s history. Read more here

The Des Moines University Provost Search Committee has completed its work and has appointed Dr. Ralitsa Akins as the next Provost of the university, effective May 1. 2018. Dr. Akins currently serves as Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs at Washington State University Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine in Spokane, Washington. Read more here

The University of Dallas Provost Search Committee has appointed Dr. Jonathan J. Sanford to be the next Provost of the University, effective February 1st. Dr. Sanford has served as Dean of the Constantin College of Liberal Arts at University of Dallas since 2015. Previously, Dr. Sanford served as Assistant and Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs, as well as Chair of the Department of Philosophy, at Franciscan University of Steubenville.

The Fresno Pacific University Provost Search committee has appointed Dr. Deborah Gayle Copeland to be the next Provost/Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs of the University, effective mid-February 2018. Prior to Dr. Copeland's appointment, she served as provost at Simpson University. Read more here

The Board of Trustees of Gammon Theological Seminary is pleased to announce the appointment of Rev. Dr. Ken J. Walden as the new President-Dean, effective January 1, 2018. Dr. Walden comes to Gammon from Hood Theological Seminary where he has served as the Director of the Center for Chaplaincy, Director of Supervised Ministry, and Associate Professor of Pastoral Care and Counseling.
