Vice President of Academic Affairs

St. Anselm College has announced the appointment of Dr. Sheila Liotta as the next Vice President of Academic Affairs. Dr. Liotta was appointed the founding dean of the School of Arts & Sciences at Providence College in 2009. Prior to serving as dean, Dr. Liotta was chair of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry for eight years. She obtained her bachelor's degree in chemistry from Rutgers University and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Cornell University. Read more here.

The Canisius College Board of Trustees has announced that Steve K. Stoute, J.D., has been named the institution's 25th President. Mr. Stoute currently serves as Vice President for Strategic Initiatives and Chief of Staff at DePaul University. Born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago, he immigrated to the United States to attend Seton Hall University, where he earned his B.S. in Business Administration. He subsequently earned an M.A. in Exercise and Sport Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his J.D. at the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Executive Director, The 2030 Project: A Cornell Climate Initiative

Cornell University has announced the appointment of alumnus Mr. Ben Furnas as executive director of The 2030 Project: A Cornell Climate Initiative.  As executive director of The 2030 Project, he will be based in Cornell Atkinson Center for Sustainability.

Director of Liturgical Press

St. John’s Abbey has announced the appointment of Dr. Therese Ratliff as Director of Liturgical Press. Dr. Ratliff is currently serving as the Publisher of the Books and Devotionals Division for Bayard, Inc. Dr. Ratliff is a seasoned, enthusiastic publishing professional with over 25 years’ experience in various aspects of the book publishing industry. Her previous positions include Publisher at Twenty-Third Publications and Senior Acquisitions Editor at Pauline Books and Media Publishing. Dr. Ratliff holds a Ph.D. in Education and Theology from Boston College and a MBA in Theology from St. Michael’s College. Read more here.

La Salle University has selected Daniel J. Allen, Ph.D., a senior vice president at DePaul University, as its 30th President. He will assume the presidency on April 18, 2022.  Dr. Allen earned his Ph.D. in education at Loyola University-Chicago, his MA in physical education and BA in English literature from Loras College in Iowa. Read more here.

Chief Financial Officer

Ms. Marie Garvin has been named Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC). Previously, she served as CFO for the national advocacy organization, Food & Water Watch. Ms. Garvin, a financial management executive with more than 20 years in the industry, will join NACAC on January 24, 2022.  She was also controller for the Center for Arms Control & Non-Proliferation in Washington, DC. Marian University in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin has selected Dr. Daisy Halvorson as the next Vice President for Finance and Administration. Dr. Halvorson was most recently VPFA at Presentation College in Aberdeen, South Dakota.  She holds a Doctorate in Education Leadership from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN and an MBA from the University of South Dakota. Morningside University has appointed Dr. Albert Mosley as the 13th president of the University. Dr. Mosley, who currently serves as the senior vice president and chief mission integration officer for Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, will start his presidency in June 2022. Prior to that, Dr. Mosley served as executive vice president and COO at Bethune-Cookman University responsible for the overall direction and coordination of five university divisions. Dr. Mosley earned his Ed.D at the University of Georgia in higher education administration and his D.D. (Doctor of Divinity) from Liberia Baptist Theological Seminary. Read more here.

 

Executive Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Blackburn College has named Dr. Margaret Lawler as Executive Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. She joins Blackburn most recently from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where she served as an equal employment opportunity (EEO) Investigator. Dr. Lawler earned her Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement Administration at Western Illinois University, her Master of Science in College Student Personnel Administration from the University of Central Missouri, and her Doctor of Education in Community College Leadership at Ferris State University. Mr. Jerald "Jerry" Paul is the newly appointed 15th President of Maine Maritime Academy (MMA). Mr. Paul presently is President of Capital Access. Previously, Mr. Paul served as Principal Deputy Administrator of the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration. He is a 1989 graduate MMA. After MMA, he earned a Postbaccalaureate Degree in Nuclear Engineering with High Honors, and a Juris Doctor of Law, Cum Laude. MMA looks forward to his arrival on campus in Spring of 2022.
