Vice President for Enrollment

The Mercyhurst University community and President Kathleen Getz seek a Vice President for Enrollment to champion student recruitment, foster thoughtful growth, and advance academic excellence in an inclusive learning environment through strategic enrollment efforts closely aligned with Mercyhurst’s mission and values.

Mercyhurst University, an accredited, not-for-profit, four-year, Catholic liberal arts institution located in Erie, Pennsylvania, was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1926. With a total enrollment of approximately 2,700 students (2,300 undergraduate and 400 graduate students) and 123 full-time faculty, Mercyhurst’s seven Schools offer more than 57 undergraduate majors, 17 graduate degree programs, eight graduate certificate programs, and associate-level degrees.

Mercyhurst University is in a period of positive and transformative change. As the community prepares to celebrate its centennial anniversary:

• Mercyhurst’s 30 varsity-level sports (16 women’s and 14 men’s) transitioned to NCAA Division I level in 2024;
• Mercyhurst’s academic leadership have focused on being a national model for teaching excellence, innovative pedagogy, and service learning, as well as the continued success of niche programs including Intelligence Studies, Cyber Security, Data Science, and studies in AI; and

As a member of the President’s Cabinet, the Vice President for Enrollment will: 

• Collaborate with university constituencies to evaluate and implement the university’s recruitment and admissions initiatives;
• Provide direction and expertise regarding student enrollment and its connection to financial aid, marketing, and retention;
• Develop and supervise the undergraduate and graduate admissions staff using best practices; and 
• Implement effective strategies to maximize campus resources and achieve enrollment goals. 

Working closely with the President, Cabinet, and Deans, the Vice President for Enrollment will identify, explore, evaluate, and coordinate campus-wide efforts to maximize net tuition revenue, while increasing the quality and diversity of the undergraduate student body.
