California State University, East Bay invites nominations and applications for the position of Founding Dean of the College of Health.
The California State University (CSU) is the largest four-year university system in the United States and is also proudly one of the most diverse and affordable university systems in the nation. Ranked by U.S. News & World Report as a top public university, Cal State East Bay is one of 23 campuses in the CSU system. The beautiful main campus is located in the Hayward Hills with panoramic views of the San Francisco Bay shoreline.
The newly established College of Health at Cal State East Bay will be focused on and dedicated to advancing health education, research, and community engagement. The departments that comprise the College of Health include: Kinesiology; Nursing; Public Health; Social Work; and Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences. The College serves approximately 1,350 undergraduates and 370 graduate students and employs 160 faculty and support staff and administrators.
The Founding Dean of the College of Health will report directly to the Provost and will be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and direction of a multi-disciplinary and talented team. The Dean will play a critical role in developing innovative academic programs, building strong community and employer partnerships, fostering interdisciplinary collaborations, and promoting a culture of excellence and inclusivity.
