California State University, East Bay invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean of the College of Letters, Arts, and Social Sciences (CLASS).
The California State University (CSU) is the largest four-year university system in the United States and is also proudly one of the most diverse and affordable university systems in the nation. Ranked by U.S. News & World Report as a top public university, Cal State East Bay is one of 23 campuses in the CSU system. The beautiful main campus is located in the Hayward Hills with panoramic views of the San Francisco Bay shoreline.
The College of Letters, Arts, and Social Sciences at Cal State East Bay houses approximately 17 academic departments (with more than 30 degree programs) and serves over 3,100 undergraduate and 560 graduate students. The College employs approximately 290 faculty and 30 staff, with an operational budget of $18 million.
The new Dean of CLASS will be a forward-thinking, creative, and collaborative leader who will join Cal State East Bay at an exciting time of transition. Reporting to the Provost, the Dean will be poised to champion the academic excellence and outstanding student experience in CLASS while building synergies across the other colleges to achieve the university’s strategic goals.
