Hope College has appointed Mr. Matthew A. Scogin as its new President. He will begin in the role on July 1, 2019, and replaces the current interim president, the Rev. Dr. Dennis N. Voskuil. Mr. Scogin is a truly remarkable non-traditional candidate. Currently, he serves as Chief Administrative Officer for Perella Weinberg Partners of New York. Prior to this, he served NYSE Euronext as Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff, Wachovia Bank as Vice President and Senior Advisor to the CEO, and the US Treasury Department as Senior Advisor for Domestic Finance. He serves on the Board of Trustees at Hope College where he earned a Bachelors in economics and political science. He received a Masters in public policy with concentration in economic policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. In addition, Mr. Scogin serves the Lower Manhattan Community Church in NYC as Lay Pastor and CFO. He is on the Board of Directors for Restore NYC (a Christian nonprofit dedicated to ending human trafficking in NYC), and, the SIFMA Foundation (a nonprofit dedicated to financial literacy and education).
