AGB Search is assisting with the search for an inaugural Director of Development for the new South Carolina Institute on the Prevention of Sexual Violence on College Campuses.
Charted at Lander University and housed at Lander’s campus at the University Center of Greenville, South Carolina, the Institute’s primary purpose is to reduce the prevalence of interpersonal violence on college campuses in South Carolina through a collaborative, unified approach. The Institute is a product of the vision of Lander University President Richard Cosentino, who worked with the state General Assembly to secure funding for the Institute, and with the vigorous support of the Governor and state legislature, this innovative concept became a reality. The Institute’s membership comprises representatives from each of the state’s public and private higher education institutions. In addition to deploying standards for best practices in prevention and intervention, as well as survivor care and support services, the Institute facilitates research and grant opportunities and develops training materials available to all participating colleges and universities.
The Director of Development will play the lead role in the fundraising efforts for the Institute. Working closely with Executive Director Matthew Hammett, President Cosentino, and Lander’s Vice President for Advancement Robyn Hoffman, the Director of Development will design a comprehensive fundraising plan and strategy for the long-term success of the Institute. The Director of Development will meet with key prospects, cultivate them, solicit them for gifts, and manage all fundraising activities. They will be donor-focused and committed to enhancing relationships that will result in the advancement of the Institute’s long-term goals.
