The Kansas Health Science Center has announced the appointment of Dr. Robert Hasty as the Founding Dean of the College of Osteopathic Medicine. Since 2016, Dr. Hasty has been serving as the Founding Dean and Chief Academic Officer at the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine (ICOM) while concurrently serving as a Professor of Internal Medicine. Dr. Hasty was instrumental in the creation of ICOM, a private, for-profit medical school nestled on the campus of Idaho State University’s Health Science Center in Meridian. During Dr. Hasty’s tenure, ICOM established itself as a titan in the field of osteopathic medicine. The school’s strong inaugural class, its more than 35 affiliate sites for clinical rotations, and excellent standing with the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA), can be attributed to Dr. Hasty’s leadership and guidance.
