Bobby previously served as executive search consultant for the firm.
WASHINGTON, D.C., July 16, 2020 – AGB Search, a national leader in higher education executive search, has announced the appointment of Kim Bobby, Ed.D., as principal. Bobby has been with AGB Search since 2017, leading numerous searches to assist institutions in identifying and securing top leadership. She co-manages the firm’s anti-bias workshops program, which aids institutions in recognizing and addressing biases that influence the search.
Bobby has had a lifelong career of promoting diversity, equity and inclusion in higher education. Prior to joining AGB Search, Bobby served as the director of the Inclusive Excellence Group (IEG) for five years at the American Council on Education (ACE) and provided leadership and oversight for the ACE Women’s Network; both programs serve to advance the representation of women and people of color in senior leadership roles in higher education.
In addition to her work with AGB Search, Bobby is the senior advisor for justice, diversity, equity and inclusion (JDE&I) initiatives with the Association of Governing Boards (AGB), working with each team in the organization to infuse JDE&I authentically in their work.
“Kim has been an invaluable member of the AGB Search team and has guided universities across the country in their work to improve diversity and inclusion efforts at the leadership level,” said Rod McDavis, managing principal of AGB Search. “We are delighted to recognize her efforts and expertise by elevating her to principal in our growing firm.”
“My goal is to add value by expanding our searches across all institutional types, as well as expanding our internal practices in diversity, equity and inclusion,” said Bobby. “I welcome the opportunity as principal to further those goals and continue to foster justice, diversity, equity and inclusion in higher education leadership.”
