Midwestern State University - Texas has announced the appointment of Dr. Beth Reissenweber as Vice President of Finance and Administration effective August 15. Dr. Reissenweber comes to MSU after serving as Vice President for Finance and Administration at Augsburg University and as Vice President for Finance and Treasurer at Aurora University. She has also progressed through positions of increasing responsibility at Roosevelt University. Her PhD in Educational Studies is from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, her MBA from Indiana University, and she holds the BS in Business Administration from Elmhurst College. |
The Community College of Allegheny County Educational Foundation has named Mr. James McMahon, CFRE as its new Chief Executive Officer. Mr. McMahon brings more than 13 years of advancement experience to CCAC. For the past six years, he has served as Advancement Director and Director of Development for the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh. Prior to joining the Carnegie Museums, he served as Director of Development for the Medical and Health Sciences Foundation of the University of Pittsburgh/UPMC and as a Fundraising Consultant for Ketchum, where he provided strategic counsel to diverse mission-driven clients on capital, endowment, and comprehensive campaigns. Mr. McMahon is an Adjunct Instructor at Carnegie Mellon University in the Master of Arts Management Program. Mr. McMahon is nearing completion of his Ed.D. in Higher Education Management from the University of Pittsburgh. He holds a Master in Philosophy in History from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Dartmouth College.
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has named Dr. Anette M. Karlsson as Chancellor of the University’s campus in Prescott, Arizona. Dr. Karlsson is a mechanical and aerospace engineer and a highly accomplished academic leader. A Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Karlsson earned her Ph.D. in mechanical and aerospace engineering at Rutgers University, within the area of applied mechanics. The Hugh A. Glauser School of Music and the College of the Arts at Kent State University have announced the appointment of Dr. Kent McWilliams as the next Director of the School of Music. Currently, Dr. McWilliams serves as a Professor of Music and Associate Dean of Fine Arts at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. An accomplished, award-winning pianist and educator, Dr. McWilliams, D.M.A., holds music performance degrees from the University of Toronto and the University of Montreal as well as an Artist Diploma from the Stuttgart Musikhochschule.
The Claflin University Board of Trustees has announced the appointment of Dr. Dwaun J. Warmack as the ninth president of the first Historically Black College and University (HBCU) in South Carolina, effective August 1, 2019. Dr. Warmack will assume the mantle of leadership at Claflin after serving the last five years as President of Harris-Stowe State University in Missouri. Dr. Warmack earned a Bachelor's degree in Education and Master's degree in Sociology from Delta State University, his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Union University and completed post-doctoral work at Harvard University School of Education. The Kansas Health Science Center has announced the appointment of Dr. Robert Hasty as the Founding Dean of the College of Osteopathic Medicine. Since 2016, Dr. Hasty has been serving as the Founding Dean and Chief Academic Officer at the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine (ICOM) while concurrently serving as a Professor of Internal Medicine. Dr. Hasty was instrumental in the creation of ICOM, a private, for-profit medical school nestled on the campus of Idaho State University’s Health Science Center in Meridian. During Dr. Hasty’s tenure, ICOM established itself as a titan in the field of osteopathic medicine. The school’s strong inaugural class, its more than 35 affiliate sites for clinical rotations, and excellent standing with the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA), can be attributed to Dr. Hasty’s leadership and guidance.
The State University of New York (SUNY) Geneseo has announced the appointment of Dr. Costas Solomou as its new Vice President for Enrollment Management. He will begin his new position on August 8. Dr. Solomou currently serves as Dean of Undergraduate Admissions and Orientation at George Washington University (GW). Prior to joining GW, he was Dean of Admissions at Queens University of Charlotte, NC, and before that, he led undergraduate admissions activities at the University of Rochester. The College of St. Scholastica has named Dr. Barbara McDonald as its 13th president. Since 2015, Dr. McDonald has been the president of North Hennepin Community College in the Twin Cities suburb of Brooklyn Park. Previously, she was interim president of Minnesota West Technical and Community College. Dr. McDonald earned a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Colorado Boulder, a master's degree in teaching English as a foreign language from American University in Cairo (Egypt) and a Doctor of Education degree from the University of Minnesota. The Board of Trustees of St. John's University, with the support of the University’s senior leadership team, has appointed Dr. Simon Møller to serve as Provost and VPAA effective July 1, 2019. Dr. Møller has been serving in this position in an interim capacity since July 1st of last year. As interim Provost, he has been an exemplary partner and collegial member of the University’s senior leadership team. He is a distinguished and internationally known expert on neurodegenerative diseases particularly in the neuroscience of Parkinson’s disease. While serving as interim Provost, he has continued to publish in highly respected journals and supervise an active research lab. Dr. Møller has received international recognition for his contribution to the sciences and is an elected member of The Norwegian Academy of Science and Technology.
