Dawn Overstreet

Dawn Overstreet, Ph.D. joined AGB Search in 2022. Dr. Overstreet brings over twenty years of experience at four (public and private) universities in positions within the Offices of the President, Provost, Dean, and VP for Student Development. Included in these positions, she served as the Assistant Vice President of Student Development and Associate Vice President of Mission and Ministry at Loyola University Chicago.

Experience and Honors

Dr. Overstreet's scholarly research and administrative experience have focused primarily on Catholic Higher Education. She taught at the University of Notre Dame as a post-doctoral teaching scholar and held numerous positions in Academic Administration at the University of Notre Dame, Boston College and Boston University. 

Dr. Overstreet spent much of her higher education career mentoring undergraduate students and bolstering universities' academic advising and international service immersions with an emphasis on student transition, retention and vocation/formation. Dr. Overstreet's research focused on the correlation between religious and spiritual beliefs and practices of college students.

Prior to joining AGB Search, Dr. Overstreet worked at SVN Chicago for ten years, earning three Presidential Awards for exceptional annual performance.

Elizabeth King

Elizabeth King, Ph.D., joined AGB Search in 2024 as an Executive Search Consultant bringing her valuable historical and business perspective spanning nearly 50 years of educational change. Dr. King, a retired university foundation CEO and mission-driven leader, guided six Wichita State University presidents and 16 board chairs in realizing their leadership priorities. Upon her retirement, she was one of the longest serving institutionally related foundation CEOs in the country. Now as a consultant, Dr. King applies her donor instincts, business intelligence, and integrity to guide executive leadership teams and boards on smart growth within the rapidly evolving higher education sector.

Experience and Honors

As CEO of the Wichita State University (WSU) Foundation for over 30 years, Dr. King led a team of 60 professionals to transform the organization and achieve unprecedented growth. With nearly $1B raised over her tenure, the Foundation’s assets grew from $54M to $400M. In 2006, Elizabeth spearheaded its transition into a separate entity, adding President to her title. In 2022, she led the integration of WSU’s Alumni Association. 

Dr. King began her WSU tenure as Vice President for University Advancement, with responsibility for the Foundation as well as University Communications and Marketing, the Ulrich Museum of Art, and the Board of Trustees. She left a legacy at WSU of forging long-standing relationships with donors around the world, and instilled a culture of excellence, collaboration, service, and integrity. She built high-performing teams across matrixed organizations with exceptional retention rates while mentoring professionals around her.

As Governor-appointed Board Director of the University of Kansas Hospital, Dr. King applies strategic insights and succession planning expertise on the Audit, Quality, and Nominating Committees. She is also a member of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education. She previously served five years on the Association of Governing Boards and its Foundations Advisory Board and has sat on multiple community not-for-profit boards. 

Dr. King is 2024’s Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame Inductee and 2018’s Wichita Women in Business Hall of Fame Inductee. In 2020 she was named Executive of the Year by the Wichita Business Journal and in 2009 she was awarded the CASE Commonfund Institutionally-Related Foundation Award.

Carl Moses

Dr. Carl Moses joined AGB Search in 2024, after serving as Provost and VP for Academic Affairs at Grand View University for eight years. He is a member of the firm’s Provost/CAO practice area. His approach to search is informed by his experiences as a search committee member or chair and as a candidate spanning 24 years as an academic administrator.

Experience and Honors

Dr. Moses has served institutions ranging from a medium-sized residential research-intensive university to a smaller university with a traditional undergraduate focus and a blend of liberal arts and professional programs to a small university with traditional day students, a working adult population, and masters’ degree programs. His service as an academic administrator at Lehigh University included roles as associate dean and Interim Dean in the College of Arts and Sciences and Deputy Provost for Academic Affairs. He chaired the Middle States accreditation self-study steering committee, co-chaired the University Diversity Leadership Council, led the enrollment management team, oversaw the performing arts center, and guided the management of study abroad risk management. 

As the Provost and Dean of the Faculty at Susquehanna University, Dr. Moses reorganized the Academic Affairs Division, led the planning for a library renovation, oversaw Student Affairs and Information Technology, and contributed to expanded internationalization. As Provost and VPAA at Grand View University, Dr. Moses oversaw the reallocation of faculty lines to support areas of growth, led the expansion of graduate programs, and oversaw the implementation of initiatives to support student success, including partnering with a telehealth provider for 24/7/365 mental health services for students.

A longtime member of the American Conference of Academic Deans, Dr. Moses served on ACAD’s Board of Directors, including a rotation as Vice Chair, Chair, and Past Chair. He also served a term on the Board of Directors of the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U).

Tony Pace

Tony Pace joined AGB Search as an Executive Search Consultant in December 2023, following a year as Director at Huron Consulting Group. Mr. Pace served in various enrollment leadership roles, including Director, Dean, and Senior Associate Director, at Trinity College (CT), Holy Cross College (MA), Vanderbilt University, and Lafayette College (PA). 

Mr. Pace has also served in interim leadership roles as Director of Undergraduate Admissions at Southern Connecticut State University and Dean of Admissions at Xavier University of Louisiana.

Mr. Pace has spoken and presented at higher education professional organization meetings and conferences, including the National and Southern Association for College Admissions Counseling, the College Board National and Regional Forums, and the Historically Black Colleges & University Conference (now rebranded A Dream Deferred).

Mr. Pace's prior career was as Higher Education Chief at the Southern Regional Office of the College Board, leading product placement, consulting on enrollment planning and policy development, training, and other consultative services to higher education institutions and university system offices across the Southeastern part of the US.

George W. Hynd

George W. Hynd, Ed.D., joined AGB Search in 2023. Dr. Hynd is a child neuropsychologist who has had a distinguished administrative and academic career in higher education. Throughout his career he has maintained a passionate commitment to excellence through comprehensive strategic planning, personnel and institutional resource development and creative solutions to fostering successful university-community partnerships. Over the course of his career in senior leadership positions Dr. Hynd has coordinated or served as the hiring officer for cabinet level positions, vice presidents, associate vice presidents, provosts, deans, and center/institute directors.

Experience and Honors

Most recently, Dr. Hynd served as the interim president at Winthrop University and as the interim dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and provost at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. 

Prior to this, Dr. Hynd served as president at Oakland University in Michigan where he led a transformative campus-wide master planning process which then informed the strategic planning process. He has held other academic and senior administrative positions including serving as the provost and executive vice president at the College of Charleston, dean of the Mary Lou Fulton College of Education at Arizona State University and as dean of the College of Education at Purdue University.

Dr. Hynd received numerous national and international awards and recognitions for his creative leadership in higher education and for the impact of his NIH-funded research. He received a Distinguished Hoosier Award in Indiana from then Governor Mitch Daniels, a special tribute from the Michigan State Legislature and community engagement leadership awards from the cities of Auburn Hills, Pontiac and Rochester, Michigan. In addition to being a Fulbright award recipient, Dr. Hynd is a Fellow in the American Educational Research Association (AERA), the National Academy of Neuropsychology (NAN) and the American Psychological Association (APA). Dr. Hynd is also a distinguished research professor emeritus at the University of Georgia.

Howard Lipman

Howard Lipman joined AGB Search in 2023 with more than 30 years of advancement and executive experience. He served as the Senior Vice President of University Advancement at Florida International University (FIU) and Chief Executive Officer of the FIU Foundation, Inc. for 13 years. As the leader of FIU’s $750 million Next Horizon capital campaign, he led the Advancement Team toward accomplishing FIU’s campaign goals and its NextHorizon2025 strategic initiatives in Student Success and Research Excellence. He successfully formed integral connections with his Foundation/Advancement staff, which was among the most diverse in higher education fundraising, as well as with emerging campus leaders.

Mr. Lipman led University Advancement and the FIU Foundation from 2010 to 2023, after serving as Vice President of University Advancement and Executive Director of the FIU Foundation from 2002 to 2006. Alumni work has been a key focus throughout his career. At FIU, he was the chief architect of the University’s revitalized alumni program, bringing in top professional talent to build out the program, expanding staff, and broadening its functions. As Foundation CEO, he managed the 501(c)(3), which was responsible for investment of endowment funds, philanthropic revenue growth, ethical stewardship of gifts, and the operation of a 44-member Board of Directors, work that advanced the university and strengthened the community.

Mr. Lipman also has a significant background in medical school fundraising. He secured gifts to establish FIU’s medical school in 2006, raised funds for the Ear Institute and a Transplant Research Chair at the University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine, and served on a team that brought in the largest gift in the state of Ohio–a $105 million investment to name Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine at Ohio University. 

Mr. Lipman has held positions in the non-profit sector including at Oakwood Healthcare System Foundation and the Zoological Society of Florida. He is the Former President and CEO of the American Red Cross of Greater Miami and the Keys, a member of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), and past President of the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ Miami chapter.

Mr. Lipman received a bachelor’s degree in political science from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. He also completed studies in higher education administration and organizational leadership at Southern Illinois University and Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.

Sarah Dirksen

Sarah Dirksen joined AGB Search in 2023. She brings with her 20 years of experience building the leadership capacity of governing boards. Ms. Dirksen’s areas of expertise include governance best practices, creative problem-solving, coaching and performance management, group process and facilitation, and strategic communication. She has presented on approaches for aligning boards and presidents, successful practices for public presidential searches, and effective annual planning processes at national conferences of the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges.

Experience and Honors

Most recently, she served as Deputy Director and Associate Secretary to the University of Minnesota Board of Regents, which oversees a 68,000-student, five-campus system with a flagship in the Twin Cities. For over a decade in this systemwide leadership role, she planned and executed searches for senior leaders, including president, interim president and chief auditor, and advised the board on a wide variety of issues and challenges across today’s dynamic higher education landscape. Previously, Ms. Dirksen led strategic initiatives and board governance for the League of Minnesota Cities, a statewide association of nearly 850 city governments. In other roles, she managed constituent services for the Minnesota Department of Revenue and directed the research and communications functions for a customer relationship management consulting firm later acquired by Personnel Decisions International.

Ms. Dirksen also served as a Policy Fellow through the Center for the Study of Politics and Governance at the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs. The Policy Fellows program is built on core values of bipartisanship, inclusiveness, and seeking “common good” solutions to public sector challenges.

Pamela Krepchin

Pamela (Pam) Krepchin joined AGB Search in 2023.  She brings over 25 years of human resources and talent acquisition experience in higher education, financial services and management consulting. She is known for having a passion for increasing diversity in the workforce and for mission-driven organizations.

Ms. Krepchin began her career in undergraduate college admissions at Holy Names College and Saint Mary’s College of California before transitioning to the private sector for a talent management role with Deloitte Consulting. She then joined the career management leadership team at Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business (MBA), followed by her career in financial services at Royal Bank of Canada and Apollo Global Management.

Ms. Krepchin has conducted hundreds of searches at all levels across multiple disciplines, including capital markets recruitment for Investment Banking, Sales, HR and Compliance and campus recruitment  for Associate Consultants and Business & Systems Analysts. Her expertise and deep understanding of the full recruitment life cycle has enabled her to be highly effective at identifying and placing talent in diverse sectors, including financial fundraising, Investor Relations, Sustainability, Investment Banking, Human Resources, Technology, Finance, Legal, and Operations. She is also skilled in employee coaching, onboarding, and performance evaluation.

Louis W. Stark

Louis W. Stark joined AGB Search as an Executive Search Consultant in 2023. He brings to the firm a career in higher education that spans forty-five years, serving thirty of those as a Vice President for Student Affairs.

Experience and Honors

Mr. Stark served as Vice President for Student Affairs at Case Western Reserve University, 2013-2023, Vice President for Student Affairs at Coe College, 1997-2013, and Vice President for Student Life at Central College from 1993-1997.  When he left Case Western Reserve University, he was appointed Vice President for Student Affairs Emeritus. He was the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs at Tulane University, as well as Associate Dean of Students at Washington University in St. Louis. As a new professional, Mr. Stark served in various positions that provided a breadth of experience serving college students within residence life, Greek life, student conduct, academic advising and admission, and financial aid.  He has served as a consultant to colleges and universities evaluating their programs and has done reaccreditation work. 

Mr. Stark has served in local, regional and national organizations. He has served as a past president and board member of the Iowa Student Personnel Association and has been active in NASPA.  He has served as Chair of the Delegates Committee for the University Athletic Association and was a member of the NCAA Division III Management Council. While in that role, he served on the President’s Council/Management Council Joint Legislative Steering Committee, the Strategic Planning and Finance Committee, the Convention Planning Subcommittee and the NCAA/NASPA Alcohol and other Drugs Steering Committee. He serves on the Board of Trustees of Davis and Elkins College in West Virginia and served as a member of the City Council in Marion, Iowa.

Franklin A. Newton

Franklin (Frank) A. Newton, Ed.D., joined AGB Search in 2023, bringing with him over 35 years of experience in education, most in higher education. He has served in roles in student affairs, academic affairs and at the assistant and associate dean level as well as vice president and chief of staff to the university president.

Experience and Honors

Dr. Newton's decades in student affairs include experience in housing and residence life, student conduct, first year experience and new student orientation. At the University of Delaware, he served as the founding Assistant Dean in the College of Earth, Ocean and Environment where he was instrumental in building the undergraduate academic programs and student support services for the college, increasing the undergraduate footprint and impact of the college exponentially.  He also served as Associate Dean in the College of Health Sciences as the college built a holistic program blending and leveraging the pillars of education, research, and care.

He has been responsible for executive search support at the faculty, director, assistant/associate dean, dean, and vice-presidential levels and supported presidential transition activity. Most recently, he served as Head of School for Newark Charter School in Delaware, which serves 3,000 diverse K-12 students. During his tenure in that role, he led the school community through the pandemic while maintaining the highest financial rating and academic ranking. Additionally, the school expanded in enrollment and physical plant and saw more than $3M in funds raised to support the expansion.
