Vance Peterson

Vance Peterson brings 40 years of higher education leadership experience to his role at AGB Search. Among other key assignments, he has served as president of Sierra Nevada College and president of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), the international association serving more than 3,600 institutions and 80,000 advancement professionals in 82 countries. Other professional roles have included: associate provost, external relations at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA); vice president for institutional advancement at Occidental College; executive director of university relations at the University of Southern California; president of the California State University Northridge Foundation; adjunct professor of higher education at the University of Pennsylvania; assistant professor of higher education and director of the John H. Russel Center for the Study of Higher Education at the University of Toledo; and, post-graduate researcher for the Peralta Community Colleges and the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education. Recently assisted searches have included senior leadership positions at: Carthage College; Austin College; Ohio Northern University; South Texas College of Law; Sierra Nevada College; and, the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library Foundation. Dr. Peterson holds the Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Occidental College, the Master of Science in Government and Business Administration from The George Washington University, and the Ph.D. in Administration and Policy Analysis from Stanford University. He is the author of several monographs, book chapters, and articles on higher education subjects.
