Arnold Speert joined AGB Search in 2010 and has successfully completed a number of presidential, vice presidential and dean searches during his tenure with the firm. Prior to joining AGB Search, he served as president of William Paterson University. During his 25 year tenure as president, the institution was transformed from a college to a comprehensive university and had its first successful capital campaign. His areas of expertise include institutional governance, institutional community building, and diversity. Speert earned his Ph.D. in chemistry at Princeton University after a bachelor's degree from the City College of the City University of New York. He presently serves on the boards of four continuing care retirement communities and has served on the boards of seven non-profit institutions, two of which he chaired. In addition, he has served on the boards of the State Farm Indemnity Company, The Ramapo Bank and the Broadway Bank and Trust Company.
Speert also was a founding commissioner of the Passaic County Improvement Authority and was chair of the New Jersey Presidents Council. He has served on the board of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities, the Inter-American Organization for Higher Education and the New Jersey Commission on Higher Education.
